Every year, for the past maybe 20+ years, we’ve put up a version of this Pumpkin Totem Pole outside our front door. In the midst of all the changes in all of our collective lives, it’s comforting to have some traditions that remain constant.
2010 has been a year of great change, great heartache and excruciating loss on many levels. It’s also been a year of growth, and a new family member, even as we lost another. This time of year is ripe for contemplating the events of the year thus far, preparing for how to navigate the coming darker, colder season both figuratively and literally, and emerging fresh and ready to grow leaps and bounds in the spring.
